Atherleigh Park is our new £40 million mental health hospital located on Atherleigh Way in Leigh.
Formerly Leigh East Amateur Rugby League ground, the 3.9-hectare site is now open and provides high quality inpatient services for adults with mental health problems, as well as patients with dementia and memory conditions.
The following services are based at Atherleigh Park:
Male and female mental health inpatient services (Sovereign and Westleigh units)
Adults' psychiatric intensive care unit (Priestner's Unit)
Older people's inpatient mental health services (Parsonage Unit)
Dementia inpatient services (Golbourne Unit)
Adults' mental health home treatment team

Atherleigh Park is a two-storey building with ground floor access, however all our wards and services are based on ground-floor level. The first floor of the building is a staff area with lift access.
No smoking policy
North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is
smokefree. Patients, carers, visitors and staff are not able to smoke anywhere on Trust premises or in vehicles. This includes the buildings, doorways, grounds, car parks and entrances.
