Who we are
Our Cheshire Integrated Healthcare Liaison and Diversion Service supports people with mental vulnerabilities who become involved with the criminal justice system across Cheshire.
Our service supports people in custody, court and the community to ensure anyone involved with the criminal justice system with vulnerabilities is appropriately supported and has their health and care needs met.
The service is provided seven days a week from 7am to 10pm, with staff based within three Cheshire custody suites:
- Runcorn custody suite
- Chester custody suite
- Middlewich custody suite
We also have staff based within magistrates' and crown courts, as well as working in the wider community to support people with vulnerabilities who become involved with the criminal justice system and reduce the chance of them offending in future.
Who is our service for?
Our service is here to support people who are brought to police custody who have vulnerabilities. This includes anything from mental illness and learning disabilities to substance misuse problems and housing issues.
