Macmillan Nursing Service - Knowsley

Who we are
The Macmillan Nursing Service provides specialist palliative care to people who are at, or reaching, the end of their life.

If you have an illness that can’t be cured, palliative care aims to make you as comfortable as possible, by managing your pain and other distressing symptoms. It also involves psychological, social and spiritual support for you and your family and carers to make sure we are meeting all your needs.

The service supports patients with a palliative diagnosis of cancer and other life-limiting conditions who are experiencing a range of complex problems.

Our end of life care aims to help patients live as well as possible until they die, and to die with dignity.

Who is our service for?
Our service is for adults age 18 and over living in Knowsley with a palliative diagnosis of cancer or another life limiting condition.

How to access the service
Patients can self-refer to the service directly by calling us on 0151 431 0156, however supporting information may be required. Alternatively, patients can speak to their GP, district nurse or community matron, who will be able to make to make a referral on your behalf.
