Orthotics - Knowsley

Who we are
Orthotics are fitted externally to the body to help people recover from or avoid an injury, or to support them to live with lifelong conditions. They can correct or prevent a physical distortion, stabilise joints, reduce pain, improve mobility, reduce the risk of injury and protect the body.

Our orthotic service provides assessment for and fitting of orthoses, which can include:
  • Collars
  • Spinal braces
  • Knee braces
  • Insoles
  • Footwear 
They are used to treat many common medical conditions and may come in many shapes and sizes, they may be mass produced or made specifically for an individual.

Who is our service for?
The service is available for adults over the age of 16 registered with a Knowsley GP.

Who do we work in partnership with?
We work closely with the diabetes and rheumatology outpatient departments at hospital and work alongside physiotherapists.
