Our commitment to quality
At North West Boroughs Healthcare, we are committed to providing the highest quality care for our patients, service users and carers, underpinned by our quality statement:

"The users of our services are our first priority in everything we do, ensuring they receive effective care from caring, compassionate and committed people, working within a common culture and protected from harm."

Our quality strategy 2018-2021
Our Quality Strategy demonstrates our approach and actions to place quality and safety at the heart of what we do. We know high quality, compassionate care is central to our strategic priorities and we are committed to ensuring community and mental health services are delivered in a joined up way.
Our Quality Strategy for 2018-2021 builds on the highly successful 2015-2018 Quality Strategy and Quality Improvement Plan which raised the profile of the quality agenda across the Trust and implemented numerous quality improvement initiatives, with a reflection and dedicated focus on the areas we still wish to improve.

The Quality Strategy provides a foundation for the development of detailed annual quality plans outlining the actions we will take each year to achieve our objectives.

It focuses particularly on reducing some of the unwarranted variations in care which exist across the Trust, as well as working with Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership and Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership to bring about system stability and ensure quality is everybody’s business.

Our quality priorities
Our quality priorities have been developed through consultation and engagement across the organisation, including with patients and service users, our Council of Governors, Trust Board and staff.

Annual Quality Report
As an NHS foundation trust, we are required to submit a quality report every year to independent regulator NHS Improvement to demonstrate the Trust’s commitment to improving quality and safety for the people who use our services.

Our full Quality Report is published on our website each year within the Annual Report and Accounts.

Within this section, you can find out more about how we ensure quality as a Trust, including safe staffing levels within our clinical services and how we report to the Care Quality Commission.
