Continued personal and professional development is an essential part of a fulfilling career.

Working with us, you will have access to a wide range of training, learning and development opportunities.

Some examples include:
  • Corporate induction
  • Health and safety and other essential training
  • A range of programmes to help clinical staff update their professional skills
  • Leadership development programmes
  • Accredited competency-based training programmes at degree and diploma level
  • IT and health informatics training
  • A range of NVQ programmes
Performance and development review
We take the personal and professional development of our staff seriously. Your learning and development should be continuous, with regular discussions with your manager throughout the year about your needs.

In addition, each member of staff is supported to explore their future development in more detail through an annual performance and development review process. This is an opportunity to have a structured conversation with your line manager about what development needs you may have and how you could best be supported to achieve your objectives.

Learning solutions don’t always have to involve formal training. Where appropriate, we encourage use of alternative activities to suit personal learning preferences.

Some examples include:
  • Work shadowing
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • Research and reading
  • Networking and collaboration
  • Taking on new responsibilities
